Privacy Policy

This is an English translation of our Japanese Privacy Policy. If there is any difference between the two, the Japanese version prevails.

Miyaji Kai Certified Public Tax Accountant Office (the "Office") recognises the importance of personal information. So that clients can provide their personal information with confidence, the Office complies with the applicable laws and the guidelines of the competent ministers, and takes appropriate measures for its secure management. As an office of a nationally licensed legal profession, the Office protects personal information and strives to earn clients' greater trust and confidence.

01 Collection of personal information

The Office collects personal information by lawful and fair means, only to the extent necessary for its work.

02 Purposes of use

The Office uses the personal information it collects for the following purposes:

• To carry out its work as a certified public tax accountant
• To answer questions and respond to enquiries
• Otherwise to handle clients' requests appropriately and smoothly

If the Office needs to use personal information for any other purpose, it will obtain consent in advance each time. If consent is not given, the Office will not use the personal information for that purpose.

03 Security management

The Office takes necessary and appropriate measures to prevent the leakage, loss or damage of the personal information it handles, and otherwise to manage it securely. When the Office outsources any part of its work involving personal information, it supervises the contractor necessarily and appropriately.

04 Provision to third parties

The Office does not provide personal information to third parties without the prior consent of the individual concerned, except where permitted by the Act on the Protection of Personal Information or other laws.

05 Disclosure and correction

When an individual requests disclosure of their personal information, the Office will disclose it promptly. The Office will not disclose it if it cannot verify the individual's identity. If the personal information is incorrect and the individual requests its correction, addition or deletion, the Office will investigate and respond to the request promptly. The Office will not respond to such a request if it cannot verify the individual's identity.

06 Specific personal information

Individual Numbers (My Number) and personal information containing them (specific personal information) are subject to strict handling rules, separate from this policy, under the Act on the Use of Numbers to Identify a Specific Individual in Administrative Procedures (the My Number Act) and other related laws. 07 Changes to this policy

This policy may be changed without notice. Unless the Office specifies otherwise, the revised policy takes effect when it is posted on the Office's website.
